Who We Are 

Dallas Venture Capital (DVC) is a Dallas based evergreen technology-focused fund that plans to invest in early stage and growth stage companies. 

In accordance with industry custom, this Site occasionally uses terminology that may be interpreted to suggest that our firm is actually a single entity. However, there is no such single entity and all of the entities that comprise our firm have their own separate legal existence. Also, although certain individuals are identified on this Site as “Partners” or “General Partners,” these titles reflect business usage that is customary within our industry and are not intended to indicate that any such individual is actually a partner or general partner of any partnership as those terms are used for legal purposes.

Trademarks

The trademarks, service marks, designs, and logos (collectively, the “Trademarks”) displayed on the Site are the registered and unregistered Trademarks of DVC and its licensors. You agree that, except as expressly permitted by us (e.g., through social media sharing tools provided on the Site) or by our licensors, where applicable, you will not refer to or attribute any information to DVC or its licensors in any public medium (e.g., press release, websites, or public social media) for advertising or promotion purposes, or for the purpose of informing or influencing any third party and that you will not use or reproduce any Trademark of, or imply any endorsement by or relationship with, DVC or its licensors.

Use Of Site Content

DVC hereby grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for the term hereof to access and download, display, and print one copy of the Site Content on any single computer solely for your internal, business use, provided that you do not modify the Site Content in any way, that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices displayed on the Site Content, and that you otherwise comply with these Terms. You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, transmit, post, or disclose the Site Content without the DVC’s prior written consent. In addition, you may not “mirror” the Site Content or any portion thereof without DVC’s express written consent. Nothing on this Site should be construed as granting directly or indirectly, or by implication any license or right to use any DVC intellectual property other than as expressly set forth herein. The license granted in this section terminates automatically and immediately if you do not comply with these Terms.

Information we collect

DVC collects personal data in the course of its business activities, including in connection with some client services. We also collect personal data on certain areas of the Sites when you register for or apply for jobs through the DVC Recruitment Portal, create a user profile, register for DVC newsletters and alerts, submit your pitch deck, sign up for conferences and events, and/or participate in public user posting areas (such as bulletin boards, discussion forums and surveys). The personal as well as business related information/data collected varies and may include information that you provide, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, and background information required to apply for a job.

We may also automatically collect information about the devices you use to interact with our Sites. The information we automatically collect may include IP address, device identifier, web browser, and browsing information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixels, clear gifs, and other similar technologies (collectively “Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies”) on our Sites. We may also automatically collect information about how you use the Sites, such as what you have searched for and viewed on the Sites. The information automatically collected may be associated with a unique identifier as well as with any other personal data you have provided.

DVC may also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as data brokers or aggregators, in the course of its business activities including in connection with some client services. This includes demographic, professional and other information that is publicly available online, including information you choose to make public through social media platforms and other public online forums. We may combine this data with existing information we have about you or use it independently, for the purposes of our benchmarking and data analytics activities (e.g., analysis of recruiting practices across an industry, detecting fraud patterns in connection with financial transactions, foot traffic in retail environments). We will always seek to confirm that the third party has provided transparent information about its use of this data, including its disclosure to third parties like DVC, in compliance with applicable law.

Use of information

DVC uses your personal data to fulfill your requests for information, process your requests to participate in conferences and events, personalize content that you view or receive on the Sites, analyze the Sites’ performance and functioning, prevent fraud, enforce our terms of use, comply with all applicable laws and corporate reporting obligations, enforce DVC’s agreements, and accomplish other purposes you may initiate or request. In some situations, the collection of personal data may be required for the operation of the Sites, or we may use it in the course of our business activities, including in connection with some client services, for example, to provide certain services or products such as our benchmarking products. We may combine and/or analyze personal data to evaluate and offer content and services most relevant to you. We may keep any of your personal data on file and use it to contact you.

DVC and its service providers may use first and third party Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies, including web beacons, to manage our Sites and our services and collect analytics about how you use them. DVC and its service providers may collect information about whether you open or click any links in the knowledge, research or event communications that we send to you. The information provided throughout this Privacy Policy about cookies also applies to these other tracking technologies. 

Our Sites do not track you by collecting personal data about your online activities over time and across third party websites or online services. Accordingly, we do not alter our data collection and use practices in response to “do not track” signals transmitted from web browsers.

Disclosure of personal data: data recipients and international data transfers

Personal data collected in the course of DVC business activities, including in connection with some client services, as well as on the Sites may be transferred from time to time to DVC subsidiaries and affiliates and their personnel across our global organization, as well as to our third party service providers located throughout the world, including in countries where the local law may grant you fewer rights than you have in your own country. Additionally, the Sites may be viewed and hosted by DVC and our third party service providers anywhere in the world. Where required by law, we have put in place legal mechanisms designed to ensure adequate data protection of your personal data that is processed by DVC subsidiaries, affiliates and third party service providers, including the transfer of your personal data to countries other than the one in which you reside. We use cookies to operate and administer our Site, gather usage data on our Site, and improve your experience on it. A “cookie” is a piece of information sent to your browser by a website you visit. Cookies can be stored on your computer for different periods of time. Security

DVC has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Data retention

DVC retains personal data, as necessary, for the duration of the relevant business relationship.

We may also retain personal data for longer than the duration of the business relationship should we need to retain it to protect ourselves against legal claims, use it for analysis or historical record-keeping, or comply with our information management policies and schedules. If you request that we delete your personal data, DVC will make reasonable attempts to delete all instances of the information in their entirety. Children

The Sites are not designed for or directed at children 16 years of age or younger, and DVC does not intentionally collect or maintain personal data about anyone under this age.

Indemnification

You hereby indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DVC and all of its predecessors, successors, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, shareholders, investors, employees, agents, representatives, and attorneys and their respective heirs, successors, and assigns (“DVC Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all liability, expenses, costs, or other losses (“Losses”) incurred by DVC and/or DVC Indemnified Parties in connection to any claims arising out of your use of the Site and/or any breach by you of these Terms, including the representations, warranties and covenants you made, if any, by agreeing to these Term. DVC reserves the right to assume, at its own expense, the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you.

Submitting a Business Plan: Due to the large number of business plan ideas and related materials that we review, and the similarity of many such plans and materials, we cannot accept responsibility for protecting against misuse or disclosure any confidential or proprietary information or other materials in the absence of our express written agreement to do so. Any plans, information and other materials you submit in connection with this Website may be used or disclosed by us for any purpose and in any manner, as we determine in our sole discretion. Please consider this carefully before sending us any information or other materials that you deem confidential or proprietary.

Limitation of Liability Except as specifically agreed by a DVC entity in writing, NO DVC INDIVIDUAL OR ENTITY SHALL HAVE ANY LIABILITY BASED UPON YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE UPON, THIS WEBSITE OR THE MATERIALS. Some jurisdictions limit our ability to disclaim liability. With regard to those jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
